When I come across the word 'Immortal,' I tend to think of finally having the time to get through my "To Be Read" list.

As always, your last sentence is the "clincher," Douglas! This one lends itself to several interpretations, notably Buddhist.

I have long argued that science fiction can be a vehicle for philosophical discourse. This drabble supports my contention.
